special education just keeps growing and more and more medical conditions are brought up, so not only they shunt our development in public schools and make us less competitive so we basically stay out of the way of those who really matter, but they also want kids to be in special ed programs. This is ridiculous, but what is more ridiculous is how parents buy into this.

well, i was wondering at what time was it realized that education is important to a growing society?

I know that in Athens around 450 B.C. natural philosophers were concerned with questions pertaining to human life and its place in society. I also know that that’s when a democracy formed, and people began to be educated to further that democracy, BUT WAS THAT WHEN education was realized to be important??

this is really important because I’m writing an essay responding to an aristotle quote that talks about the importance of education. (I’m in 8th grade)

Not special needs, but special ed. (Special needs=disabled, special ed=learning disability and things like depression, schizo-effective, etc.)
